What Is the Fortune Variant?

Fortune is one of the variant lines in Fortnite Treasure Hunters, the season that started on Sunday, November 1, 2026 with update v43.00. Epic describes its bonus simply: “Reveals nearby Chests.” A Fortune Sprite keeps the same base ability as its Normal form and adds that Chest reveal on top, so Fortune Re-Pete still reloads faster and Fortune Halfpeel’d still marks eliminations.

Many players search for “Jeweled Sprites” instead. That is the name used in datamines and in the game’s icon files, and it matches the look: Fortune forms are red and gem-encrusted. Jeweled and Fortune are the same line; Fortune is Epic’s name for it.

Which Fortune Sprites Are Live?

Fortune has been live since day one for every three-form Sprite except Lil’ Uzi Vert Jr. That means ten live Fortune forms: Halfpeel’d, Re-Pete, Barry O’Fish and Wayfinder at Rare; Chester, Kelper, Exmarks and Lil’ Squibbly at Epic; Lil’ Flacko at Legendary; and Plundarrgh at Mythic.

Lil’ Uzi Vert Jr. has Fortune art in the game files, but none of its three forms is live. It is expected with Lil Uzi’s arrival on November 7, when Epic promises “strange new Sprites”, but Epic has not named it, so treat that as expected rather than confirmed. Transponder Snail and Sweet Dreams are single-form Sprites, so they have no Fortune form at all.

Lil’ Flacko is the one Fortune Sprite with a documented source for the Sprite itself: A$AP Rocky can drop it when you beat him as the Captain’s Day Boss. Epic does not say whether that drop can be the Fortune form.

How Fortune Fits With Cursed and Gold

Fortune is not the only line this season. Epic says Cursed arrives on November 7 with this bonus: “Increases your chance of finding rare Sprite variants, but water damages you.” Cursed art exists for all eleven three-form Sprites, but none was live on November 2. Epic also says Gold returns on November 12, granting bonus XP from eliminating opponents, though it has not said which Sprites get Gold.

Neither Epic nor the directory says whether Fortune counts as a “rare Sprite variant” for Cursed’s bonus, so do not assume a Cursed Sprite makes Fortune forms easier to find.

Drop Rates and What Is Still Unknown

No Fortune drop rate has been published. Every rate in the live directory reads 0%, which is a placeholder, not a real figure. The Chest reveal has no published range, and nothing says which Chest types it covers.

Epic’s general tools for finding Sprites still apply. A torn-down Wanted Poster becomes a Sprite Treasure Map leading to a buried Sprite Chest, and Mastery Monday, every Monday from 9 AM ET, brings 2x Sprite XP, 2x Sprite Dust and more Sprite Chests and Wanted Posters. Epic does not say any of these boost Fortune forms specifically.

On the Sprite Checklist, each Fortune form is its own row. Single-form Sprites show N/A in the Fortune column, and Lil’ Uzi Vert Jr. waits until it releases.

Fortune Forms and Sprite Mastery

Fortune forms count toward the same in-game progress as any other Sprite. The Sprite Mastery track returns under the Treasure tab in the Lobby, with a new page unlocking every week and rewards that include Lucky Locators, Golden Fireworks and other Gizmos. The Sprite Mastery Strongbox Back Bling upgrades as you progress, and mastering 40 Sprites earns the Navigator’s Nosedive Umbrella.

Epic has not said whether a Fortune form counts as a separate Sprite toward that total. Sprites from this season now show a Sprite Stamp explaining how you got them, and View Info explains what each Stamp means.

Frequently asked questions

What do Fortune Sprites do?

They keep their base ability and add Epic’s Fortune bonus: “Reveals nearby Chests.”

Are Jeweled Sprites the same as Fortune Sprites?

Yes. “Jeweled” is the name in datamines and the game’s icon files, which show a red, gem-encrusted look. Epic calls the line Fortune.

Which Sprites have a Fortune form?

Every three-form Sprite: Halfpeel’d, Re-Pete, Barry O’Fish, Wayfinder, Chester, Kelper, Exmarks, Lil’ Squibbly, Lil’ Flacko, Plundarrgh and Lil’ Uzi Vert Jr. All are live except Lil’ Uzi Vert Jr.

When did Fortune Sprites release?

Sunday, November 1, 2026, with update v43.00, the first day of Treasure Hunters.

Is there a Fortune Lil’ Uzi Vert Jr.?

Its art is in the game files, but it is not live. It is expected around Lil Uzi’s November 7 arrival; Epic has not named it.

Do Transponder Snail and Sweet Dreams have Fortune forms?

No. Both are single-form Sprites.

What is the Fortune Sprite drop rate?

Unpublished. The directory’s 0% is a placeholder.
