What the Plundarrgh Sprite Does

Plundarrgh is a Mythic Sprite in Fortnite Treasure Hunters, the season that began on Sunday, November 1, 2026 with update v43.00 on Crossbones Isle. Its ability in Epic’s words: “Open Chests for increased Pickaxe and movement speed.” The live directory says the same thing: opening a chest grants a boost to both pickaxe speed and movement speed.

Two details are worth knowing. The trigger is opening a chest, so it pays off for players who loot as they move. And the reward is speed on two fronts, faster swings for farming or breaking through walls and faster movement for rotating away from the chest you just opened. What is not published is just as important: Epic has not given the size of either boost, how long it lasts, or whether it stacks across several chests. Unlike most Sprites, Plundarrgh’s directory entry has no Level Up line, so this guide does not claim the boost grows as it levels.

How to Get the Plundarrgh Sprite

No spawn location has been published for Plundarrgh, and no drop rate either: every rate in the live directory shows 0% this season, which means unpublished. The only Treasure Hunters Sprite with a named source is Lil’ Flacko, from the A$AP Rocky Boss on Captain’s Day, so there is no confirmed Plundarrgh source to point you to.

The season’s general Sprite routes still apply. A Wanted Poster, once torn down, becomes a Sprite Treasure Map leading to a buried Sprite Chest. On Mastery Monday, every Monday from 9 AM ET, Sprite Chests and Wanted Posters appear in bigger numbers, and you earn 2x Sprite XP and 2x Sprite Dust all day.

Plundarrgh Variants: Normal, Fortune and Cursed

Plundarrgh has three forms. Normal and Fortune have been live since day one. Fortune Plundarrgh keeps the chest-triggered speed boost and adds Epic’s Fortune bonus: “Reveals nearby Chests.” That pairing suits it well, since seeing more chests means more chances to trigger the speed boost. Datamines and the game’s icon files call this line “Jeweled,” with a red, gem-encrusted look, so Jeweled Plundarrgh and Fortune Plundarrgh are the same form.

Cursed Plundarrgh is arriving November 7 per Epic. Its art, translucent and ghostly with glowing eyes, is already in the files. Epic’s Cursed bonus: “Increases your chance of finding rare Sprite variants, but water damages you.” Gold returns November 12 with bonus XP from eliminating opponents, but Epic has not said which Sprites get Gold.

Is Plundarrgh Worth Using?

If your matches revolve around opening chests, Plundarrgh turns each one into a burst of speed, and Fortune makes those chests easier to find. If you skip loot and play for fights, it triggers less often. With the boost size unpublished, rarity alone is not a verdict. Leveling it still counts on the Sprite Mastery track under the Treasure tab, where a new page unlocks every week, rewards include Gizmos such as Lucky Locators and Golden Fireworks, and mastering 40 Sprites earns the Navigator’s Nosedive Umbrella.

Plundarrgh also fits the season’s treasure theme. Wanted Posters turn into Sprite Treasure Maps and lead to buried Sprite Chests, so a route built around maps and chests gives a chest-triggered Sprite plenty of chances to fire. Whether opening a buried Sprite Chest counts as opening a chest for Plundarrgh has not been stated, so treat that as something to test rather than a confirmed combo. Its Sprite Stamp in the Sprites screen will show how you got it; View Info explains each Stamp.
