Wayfinder is a Rare Sprite in Fortnite Treasure Hunters, the season that launched on Sunday, November 1, 2026 with update v43.00 on Crossbones Isle. Before release, datamines listed it under the name “Compass”, so you may see that name in older leaks.
Epic has not quoted Wayfinder’s ability in its notes, so the wording here comes from the live Sprite directory: Wayfinder reveals nearby Sprites and grants more items from Buried Chests, and its detection radius grows each level. That makes it one of the few Sprites whose ability helps you find other Sprites, which is why collectors tend to look for it early.
How to Find and Collect Wayfinder
Wayfinder has been live since November 1. No spawn area or summon cost has been published, so this page does not name a landing spot. So far, the only Treasure Hunters Sprite with a documented source is Lil’ Flacko, which A$AP Rocky can drop as a Boss on Captain’s Day.
No drop rates are published for this season; the directory’s 0% labels are placeholders. Wayfinder fits naturally with this season’s treasure loop. Epic’s new Wanted Poster turns into a Sprite Treasure Map when you tear it down, and that map leads to a buried Sprite Chest. Wayfinder’s ability names Buried Chests, but no source confirms that its extra-items bonus applies to buried Sprite Chests specifically, so treat that as untested. Mastery Monday, every Monday from 9 AM ET, brings 2x Sprite XP, 2x Sprite Dust and more Sprite Chests and Wanted Posters.
Wayfinder Variants: Normal, Fortune and Cursed
Wayfinder has three forms. Normal and Fortune are live. Epic describes the Fortune bonus in four words: “Reveals nearby Chests.” Fortune Wayfinder therefore reveals nearby Sprites through its base ability and nearby Chests through the Fortune bonus. The Fortune line is called “Jeweled” in datamines and icon files, with a red, gem-encrusted look.
Cursed Wayfinder is not live yet. Epic says the Cursed line arrives on November 7: “Increases your chance of finding rare Sprite variants, but water damages you.” Its art is already in the game files. Epic also says Gold returns on November 12, with bonus XP from eliminating opponents, but has not said which Sprites get Gold, so this page does not list a Gold Wayfinder.
What Is Unpublished, and How to Play Around It
There are no numbers in the description. The starting detection radius, how much it grows per level, how many extra items a Buried Chest gives, and how Sprites are shown once revealed are all unpublished. The directory also does not say whether the reveal covers every Sprite form.
In practice, Wayfinder is a collector’s Sprite. Equip it when your goal is filling gaps on your checklist, and level it so the detection radius grows. If you are hunting maps instead, compare Exmarks, which reveals Treasure Maps and Wanted Posters and spawns a Treasure Map at max level. If you prefer information about fights, compare Halfpeel’d, which marks eliminations on the map. These are different jobs, not a verified ranking.
Track Each Wayfinder Form Separately
The free Sprite Checklist lists each Wayfinder form as its own row with separate Collection and Mastery boxes. Owning Normal Wayfinder does not mark Fortune as owned, and the Cursed row shows Soon until November 7.
Leveling is also tracked in-game. The Sprite Mastery track is back under the Treasure tab in the Lobby, with a new page unlocking every week, and Sprites from this season now carry a Sprite Stamp that shows how you got them; View Info explains each Stamp. Tick a Wayfinder form on your checklist only once it is actually in your collection; a new icon in the game files is not a find.
