What the Chester Sprite Does

Chester is an Epic Sprite from Fortnite Treasure Hunters, the season that opened on Sunday, November 1, 2026 with update v43.00 and the new 80-player island, Crossbones Isle. It fits the season’s theme closely: its job is getting more out of the chests you open, with a movement perk on the side.

Epic’s wording for the ability is: “May spawn extra loot from Chests and cancels fall damage.” The live Sprite directory describes it as a chance to spawn extra loot from Treasure Chests and says it nullifies fall damage, with the extra-loot chance increasing each level. Two details are worth noticing. The loot half is a chance, not a guarantee, and it is the part that improves as Chester levels; the directory does not say the fall-damage protection changes with level. Also, Epic writes “Chests” while the directory writes “Treasure Chests”, and neither source spells out exactly which chest types count.

How to Find and Collect Chester

Chester has been collectible since Treasure Hunters launched on November 1, 2026, in both its Normal and Fortune forms. No spawn location has been published for it, so this page does not name a landing spot. Its summon cost has not been published either.

The season gives you a few general ways to find more Sprites. Tearing down a Wanted Poster turns it into a Sprite Treasure Map that leads to a buried Sprite Chest. Mastery Monday is back too: every Monday from 9 AM ET, Epic doubles Sprite XP and Sprite Dust all day and puts out more Sprite Chests and Wanted Posters. Epic has not said which Sprites a buried Sprite Chest can hold, so treat these as more chances to find a Sprite, not a route to Chester in particular.

No Treasure Hunters drop rates have been published. The 0% labels in the live directory are placeholders, not proof that Chester is impossible to find, so this site leaves the rate empty.

Chester Variants: Normal, Fortune and Cursed

Chester is a three-form Sprite. Normal and Fortune are live, and Epic has scheduled the Cursed line for November 7. Each form keeps the same extra-loot and fall-damage ability and adds its line’s bonus.

Fortune Chester adds Epic’s Fortune bonus: “Reveals nearby Chests.” That pairs naturally with Chester’s own ability, since one finds the chests and the other may add loot to them, although Epic has not described the two working together. Datamines and the game’s icon files call this line “Jeweled”, after its red, gem-encrusted look, so if you searched for a Jeweled Chester, this is the same form.

Cursed Chester exists in the game’s art files, with the line’s translucent, ghostly look and glowing eyes. Epic says Cursed “Increases your chance of finding rare Sprite variants, but water damages you.” How much damage water deals and how much the chance rises have not been published. Epic also says Gold returns on November 12, but no Gold art exists yet, so whether Chester gets a Gold form is unknown.

What Is Unpublished, and How to Play Around It

The size of the extra-loot chance, how much it grows per level and the number of levels have not been published. Neither source says what the extra loot can be, how many items it adds, or whether it can trigger more than once on the same chest. Fall damage is the clearer half: Epic says Chester cancels it, so long drops are less of a risk while it is equipped.

In practice, Chester rewards a route built around opening chests, and it makes high ground easier to leave in a hurry. Because the loot bonus is only a chance, treat it as a bonus rather than something to plan a whole match around. If chests are your focus, you can also compare Plundarrgh, which grants increased pickaxe and movement speed when you open a chest, or Wayfinder, which grants more items from Buried Chests. These are different effects, not a verified ranking.

Track Each Chester Form Separately

The free Sprite Checklist treats each Chester form as its own row, with separate Collection and Mastery boxes. Owning Normal Chester does not mark Fortune Chester as owned. The Cursed Chester row shows Soon until it releases, so you cannot tick it early. Your Season 4 and Season 3 checklists stay separate, so an older find does not count here.
