What the Halfpeel’d Sprite Does

Halfpeel’d is a Rare Sprite in Fortnite Treasure Hunters, the season that opened on Sunday, November 1, 2026 with update v43.00 and moved the action to Crossbones Isle. It is one of the Sprites you can find from day one, and it sits in the lowest rarity tier of the new set, alongside Re-Pete, Barry O’Fish and Wayfinder.

Its ability, in Epic’s words: “Marks elims on the map. Detection range grows with each level.” The live Sprite directory says the same thing in longer form: eliminations are marked on your map, and the radius in which they are detected grows each time Halfpeel’d levels up. Two details matter. The trigger is an elimination happening within range, not one you scored yourself, and the payoff is information on the map rather than loot, healing or damage.

How to Find and Collect Halfpeel’d

Halfpeel’d has been collectable since the season launched on November 1. Neither Epic nor the live directory lists a spawn area for it, so there is no named landing spot to recommend, and the summon cost has not been published either. The only Treasure Hunters Sprite with a documented source so far is Lil’ Flacko, which A$AP Rocky can drop as a Boss on Captain’s Day.

No drop rates have been published for this season. The directory’s 0% labels are placeholders, not proof that Halfpeel’d is rare or missing. What Epic has announced are general ways to find more Sprites: tearing down a Wanted Poster turns it into a Sprite Treasure Map that leads to a buried Sprite Chest, and on Mastery Monday, every Monday from 9 AM ET, Sprite Chests and Wanted Posters appear in bigger numbers alongside 2x Sprite XP and 2x Sprite Dust. None of that names Halfpeel’d specifically, so treat it as more chances overall, not a targeted route.

Halfpeel’d Variants: Normal, Fortune and Cursed

Halfpeel’d has three forms. Normal and Fortune are live now. Epic describes the Fortune bonus in four words: “Reveals nearby Chests.” Fortune Halfpeel’d keeps the same elimination-marking ability and adds that Chest reveal on top. Datamines and the game’s icon files call this line “Jeweled”, which is why it shows a red, gem-encrusted look and why some players search for Jeweled Halfpeel’d.

Cursed Halfpeel’d is not live yet. Epic says the Cursed line arrives on November 7, with this bonus: “Increases your chance of finding rare Sprite variants, but water damages you.” Its translucent, glowing-eyed art is already in the game files, but art is not a release. Epic also says Gold returns on November 12, with bonus XP from eliminating opponents, but has not said which Sprites get a Gold form, so this page does not list one for Halfpeel’d.

What Is Unpublished, and How to Play Around It

The ability names no numbers. Neither source gives the starting detection radius, how much it grows per level, or how long a marker stays on the map. The Fortune reveal has no published range either, and nothing says whether it covers every Chest type or only some.

In practice, Halfpeel’d is a scouting Sprite. Elimination markers tell you where fights have just happened, which helps whether you want to move toward weakened players or steer around a busy area. Because the detection range grows with level, its value should rise as you level it, so leveling Halfpeel’d is worth it if you like map information. If you would rather find gear than fights, compare Wayfinder, which reveals nearby Sprites and grants more items from Buried Chests, or Exmarks, which reveals Treasure Maps and Wanted Posters. These are different jobs, not a verified ranking.

Track Each Halfpeel’d Form Separately

The free Sprite Checklist treats each Halfpeel’d form as its own row, so owning Normal Halfpeel’d does not mark Fortune as owned. Collection and Mastery are separate boxes, and the Cursed row shows Soon until it releases on November 7.

Leveling is also tracked in-game. The Sprite Mastery track is back under the Treasure tab in the Lobby, with a new page unlocking every week, and Sprites from this season now carry a Sprite Stamp that shows how you got them; View Info explains each Stamp. Tick a Halfpeel’d form on your checklist only once it is actually in your collection; a new icon in the game files is not a find.
