What the One Wish Willow Sprite Does

One Wish Willow is a Mythic Sprite added to Chapter 7 Season 4 “Override” with the v42.40 update on October 15. It is the Sprite from Epic’s Fortnitemares 2026 collaboration with Obsession, Curry Barker’s horror film from Focus Features, and Epic’s Fortnitemares roadmap listed it as the “Obsession Sprite (October 15)”. If you were searching for the Obsession Sprite, this is it. In the film, a One Wish Willow is a novelty toy that claims to grant one wish when broken.

Epic’s v42.40 notes describe the ability as: “Extract enemies’ equipped Sprites upon elimination and push nearby enemies away when damaged. You’ll be marked on the map if you remove it, so be careful!” The in-game text in the live Sprite directory reads: “Extract other players equipped Sprites when eliminating them. Push everything away when damaged. Gets upset when removed and marks you on the map.” Together they describe three separate effects: one on eliminations, one when you take damage, and a penalty for taking it off.

The Three Parts of the Ability

Eliminations: when you eliminate an enemy, you extract the Sprites they had equipped. Neither text says whether those Sprites keep the level their previous owner reached. This is not the same as a Bounty Hunter bonus, which is a chance to find Sprites when eliminating opponents; One Wish Willow’s text points at the eliminated player’s equipped Sprites specifically. Neither source describes how the two effects combine on Bounty Hunter One Wish Willow.

Taking damage: when you are damaged, One Wish Willow pushes enemies away. Epic’s notes say “nearby enemies”, while the in-game text says “everything”, and neither publishes the push strength or a cooldown. Removing it: if you remove One Wish Willow, you are marked on the map. Epic has not said how long the marker lasts or what exactly counts as removing it, whether that means unequipping it, dropping it or both. Level-up scaling for any of the three parts is unpublished as well.

Playing One Wish Willow Without Getting Caught Out

The removal penalty is the part to plan around. Epic’s own warning ends with “so be careful!”, and a map marker can give your position away. Treat equipping One Wish Willow as a commitment for the match rather than a slot you will swap mid-fight. If you do need to change it, pick a moment when being revealed costs you least, and do not count on the mark disappearing quickly, since its duration is unpublished.

The other two parts suit players who take fights. The elimination effect only pays out when you win them, and both descriptions tie the push to taking damage, so its timing depends on when you get hit rather than on when you choose. It may help create space when someone closes in, but nothing published says how far enemies are pushed, so test it in your own matches before relying on it to escape a fight.

How to Find and Collect One Wish Willow

One Wish Willow went live on Thursday, October 15, 2026 with v42.40, a full patch. It was available as soon as servers came back, around 2:30 AM PT / 5:30 AM ET, rather than at the 6 AM PT daily reset. Honey, the last Design-A-Sprite winner, arrived in the same update. The live Sprite directory confirms the Mythic base form but lists no spawn area, so there is no named landing spot to recommend.

No Season 4 drop rates have been published anywhere reliable; the directory’s 0% labels are placeholders, not proof that One Wish Willow cannot be found. Epic’s v42.40 notes scheduled Trick or Treat Power Hours for Saturday, October 17, from 11 AM PT / 2 PM ET with a second round at 6 PM PT / 9 PM ET, and said the Trick or Treat Sprite variant appears more often during them. The notes give no per-Sprite odds, so that is a general window for Trick or Treat forms rather than a promise of this one.

One Wish Willow Variants and Checklist Tracking

One Wish Willow has six live forms from day one: Normal, Gold, Cheat Master, Loot Hacker, Bounty Hunter and Trick or Treat. Each keeps the same three-part ability and adds its own bonus. Gold gives 3× bonus Sprite XP from eliminations, which fits a Sprite with an effect that also fires on eliminations. Cheat Master makes all Cheat Code inputs count as correct, Loot Hacker increases the chances of spawning items from your Loot Hacks, and Bounty Hunter adds a chance to find Sprites when eliminating opponents while gaining Sprite XP only from eliminations. The Trick or Treat bonus has not been published yet. There is no Quack One Wish Willow, so its Quack cell shows N/A.

The free Sprite Checklist saves your collection in your browser and treats each form as its own row, so owning Normal One Wish Willow does not tick Gold or any other theme. Use the Missing filter before a session to pick a target, and tick the exact cell only once that form is in your collection; the same rule applies to anything the elimination effect gets you. Mastery is tracked separately, and share links and backup codes keep the collection you recorded.

Frequently asked questions

Is One Wish Willow the Obsession Sprite?

Yes. Epic’s Fortnitemares roadmap listed an “Obsession Sprite” for October 15, and One Wish Willow is that Sprite, from the Fortnitemares collab with the horror film Obsession. In the film, a One Wish Willow is a novelty toy that claims to grant one wish when broken.

When did the One Wish Willow Sprite release?

Thursday, October 15, 2026, with the v42.40 update. It was live as soon as servers came back, around 2:30 AM PT / 5:30 AM ET, with all six forms available from the start.

What rarity is the One Wish Willow Sprite?

Mythic, verified in the live Sprite directory.

What does the One Wish Willow Sprite do?

Eliminating an enemy extracts the Sprites they had equipped, taking damage pushes nearby enemies away, and removing it marks you on the map. Level-up scaling, push strength and cooldown have not been published, and neither has whether extracted Sprites keep their level.

What happens if you remove One Wish Willow?

You are marked on the map. Epic has not said how long the marker lasts or whether “remove” means unequipping it, dropping it or both, so treat equipping it as a commitment for the match.

Where does One Wish Willow spawn?

The live Sprite directory does not list a spawn location for One Wish Willow, so this page does not name one.

What is the One Wish Willow drop rate?

Unpublished. No Season 4 drop rates have been published anywhere reliable; the directory’s 0% is a placeholder, so this site leaves the rate empty.
